Since Energy resources as well as Food resources are known as absolutely necessary elements in maintaining human survival and culture, the law and legal systems, for the purpose of effectively exploring, distributing and utiltzing limited existing Energy resources, have been actively involved in important research in not only the energy resource potential countries, but also the energy resource exploring countries.

In accordance, the Korea Energy Law Institute has been doing continuous research on the comparisons, the structures and the developments of the laws, the acts and legal systems related to the limited existing energy resources. Moreover, the Institute has been contributing to the development of International Energy Laws through exchanging both legal information and cases with internationally reputable energy law institutes with the hopes of a worldwide perspective and a long term basis in understanding the facts that energy resources are scattered worldwide and that energy resources should be preserved for future generations.

The Korea Energy Law Institute has been researching and data gathering to help structure the energy laws in the public and private sectors which deal with oil, gas, electricities, coal, atomic plants and alternative energy resources of internationally reputable energy resource exploring countries. And consequently the Institute has also been involved in the structuring of international private and public energy law systems covering domestic and international contractual legal systems for energy exploration, distribution and conservation.
